What is Christmas season without the exchange of gifts and food-? It's like summer season without
the sunshine and heat, and now that summer season is over we can now look forward to winter and Christmas (sorry, but I am not a fan of Halloween ). So today I am sharing a few gifts that will definitely bring a smile to your face or that of your BFF, sister, or Mom this Christmas and perhaps a frown to your pockets too...lol, Perfumes.
1. YSL LIBRE
Now you must have seen the launch of this perfume sometime last month, the beauty brand L'oreal Paris has been in the lab for many years developing this sensual fragrance in collaboration with Yves Saint Laurent. The name Libre means free, and I couldn't think of a better name to describe this sensual yet daring perfume. The opening has a subtle floral intro that can almost be missed due to its combination of strong Lavender essence with a daring note of Musk accord.
The endnote, on the other hand, is where the orange blossom notes can be appreciated. The design of the bottle is unique with the gold chain around the neck of the bottle and the YSL logo around its body making it easy to handle and spritz.
Towards the end of the day (about 8 hours after I had used it) I noticed the soft floral notes coming through, it is long-lasting and goes from day to night, a truly feminine fragrance that brings boldness and sensuality to the modern girl who is free, liberated, and does exactly what she wants.
2. TOM FORD METALLIQUE
I have to say, I am new to Tom Ford fragrances and perfumes but this one right here blew me away. Now smell this - A sweet sandalwood and vanilla scent with notes of Bergamot, pink pepper and ambrette that is just perfect for Autumn. I tell you this perfume is so unique you'll want to wear it every day.
At first sight, you would think the perfume is made for men because of the design of the bottle. The bottle comes in a fun metallic shape with a gold cap having the TF logo engraved on it. I got the 100ml bottle which is slightly heavy, so I wouldn't advise carrying in it in your purse.
3. LANCOME IDOLE
For the past 5 years, I have been a fan of Lancome beauty products, from their range of concealers and foundations to their facial treatment products and I have not been disappointed until now. Last Christmas I bought the La Vie Est Belle which I absolutely love and earlier in the year I got the Eclat version of it which I lost when I went on a trip (yes the 50ml bottle is small and light enough to carry in your purse) yes, that is how much I love that perfume.
The new Idole, on the other hand, does not agree with me at all. First off, the bottle does not have a steady balance on the table so beware if you have a small makeup table, and I think this comes from trying to design a smooth and sleek bottle, I quite like the bottle cap and the colour and that's about it.
Now the opening notes for the Idole are Citrus Bergamia and Pear, the middle notes are May Rose, Rose, and Jasmine while the endnotes are Musk and Vanilla which is the only ingredient that I like here. Although the Idole is long-lasting, it has an underlay of sweetness to it but then again it gives off a cheap powdery vibe which is another downside.
All in all its not for me and will be given out as a gift.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PERFUME FOR 2019 ?
